It’s been a fun holiday, playing with pico-8 / lua and it’s tracker.

The creator described the environment as “cozy” and I completely agree. It’s feels like a nice little contained space to make something. I can see how the limitations of the environment can help you scope a small jam project. I found lua surprisingly easy to pick up and the most difficult the music tracker. I’m not familiar with tracker software, though I had once wanted to learn famitracker after watching 8bit dan do his thing on yt. I look forward to creating a game for a jam in pico-8.
